I'm feeling pretty good today. Class last night was a killer. The teacher last night is known for being like a drill sergeant but in a good way. Less vinyasa, more holding poses longer and today my arms are feeling solid! No arm balances involved this time, just a lot, a whole lot, of Warrior 2 which can be murder on your shoulders after awhile. But I like the instructor, I like her a lot. Although for 75 minutes I want to throw her out of the window, I'm thankful for her class afterward. I think between her and my Tuesday class brings a nice balance of what my body needs. One class is more vinyasa and flexibility based where the other seems to work my muslces more. I hope I can make it next week. Class is at 5:15 and I get out of work at 5:00 so it's cutting it close. I hate to show up to a class late, even if it's 1 minute late, I hate it. I'm just Type A like that.

Explain your situation with work and ask your teacher what her thoughts are about students arriving late. Some yoga teachers are firm about punctuality, but others are more lenient. In my classes, I would rather my students arrive late than not come at all. You may be able to work something out where you sneak in quietly and unroll your mat in the back, even if class has already started.
I don't think Elizabeth (that's the teacher's name) would mind if I'm a few minutes late. The studio policy is no later than 15 minutes after class begins, which is a little much for me but whatever, it's not my studio. Its just my own personal thing where I just don't like showing up late for things. I rather be 30 minutes than 2 minutes late.
I'm like you, I don't like being late. I am often too early for my class but I never feel rushed. I'm someone who won't run for the bus either, I'll just wait for the next one. Love the way you describe your classes! I definitely know that thought of wanting to chuck your teacher out the window LOL but thankful afterwards.
Yeah its really interesting which people find holding poses really hard and which people find the vinyasas harder. Its a split down the middle and I think it just has to do with body type and constitution
Personally I hate holding things but I am like you I also know they are good for me
