Heart Stuff

I don't really feel like doing the whole cut/paste thing again but here's the latest news I received from my doctor about my heart. I wrote about it in my livejournal.

This only motivates me to practice asana more....like my life depended on it! Ok that's a bit dramatic but I like to think BIG.

Wow. This strikes me as a time of intense learning and really diving in deep. I can completely understand if you feel frustrated. But I also wanted to tell you that I lost 15pounds (and went down 3 sizes) when I stopped going to the gym 6 days/wk. It wasn't even on purpose. It just so happened that I spent a lot of time receiving structural bodywork and delving into what is really good (food-wise) for my body. It was a time of emotional and spiritual healing and my metabolism just happened to change along with it. Since I'm freer now, food no longer "sticks" so much. I've gotten rid of a lot of the stuckiness that I always carried along w/ over-tight muscles and aberrations in my body. I really wish you well Marilyn in your explorations here. I'm sure it won't be easy, but that's okay. You can do it.

a mantra I used when I was going through some stuff: I AM NOT THIS BODY, I AM NOT THIS BODY, I AM NOT THIS BODY! :)

wishing you a peaceful heart (!) and heartful peace!

shanti!

I'm in a similar situation, though I have no heart issues. I landed hard on the pavement and now it seems yoga's the only way to straighten myself again. I also feel like there is simply no time left to squander. I immerse myself as deeply into my practice as I can because it's all I can really count on anymore.

Would you consider writing eight interesting items regarding yourself and posting them on your blog. And also select and post the URLs of eight other bloggers to do the same. I got pegged to participate but some of the strangers I've asked don't seem to want to play.

Thank you! Your cupcake photos are exquisite, by the way. I love cupcakes.

Oh hon, that doesn't sound like fun but once you make some of the dietary changes, it'll hopefully make life easier. YAY you can still do yoga. See, yoga is good for you no matter what :-) This might seem like a stupid question but can they get rid of the aneurysm eventually or do you need to make dietary changed permanently?

Mary, it's not so much a dietary thing as it just physical. I can't over do it with the exercises, no crazy cardio stuff. The diet talk is just because I need to lose weight, the two aren't related. They can't do anything to get rid of it because that would involve surgery which isn't really necessary. They want to rule out if this just a defect I was born with and hasn't been detected until now.
