Bakasana

Bakasana (Crow Pose)

That's awesome! Crow isn't easy, so I say celebrate the fact that you're up and flying.

I am just so impressed with how strong you must be. My upper body strength needs a lot of work before I can start doing these like this. I can get one leg up at a time and that is challenging for me. Have you always been able to do this pose?

Mary,
HELL NO! I spent maybe 3 years working on this pose and I have fallen on my face many, many times. I'm still working on it. I can't hold it very long and it takes a couple of attempts before I actually get up there.

How funny!! I just posted Bakasana, as well, and one of my sons said that my face looks like I've gone crazy! Also, I think you're right. Pantanjali definitely states the Sutras that legs must be tan for Bakasana ;-)

hey, I can't even do it -- I swear my upper arms are too short so my knees keep sliding down or something!

but I do a FABULOUS titibasana (firefly?) -- I even crossed my ankles in it once.....and I'm an old broad!

3 years hey, that's gives me some kind of comfort LOL. It's taken me 2 years just to go from Downward Facing Dog to Lunge! Not kidding. I just couldn't get my leg up there. I am scared of inversions for that very reason of falling on my face. My fear definitely holds me back. You're such an inspiration to me :-) There are so many "teacher" blogs I've come across but I prefer to read about people's own practice. Thanks for sharing.
